This is one of my earliest recordings. When I was just getting into audio I loved the way lo-fi digital recording sounded. So a lot of my earlier stuff is messing around with a small Sony recorder. There are actually two separate recordings that I merged. One is street music in Portland. The other was recorded days before I left Portland to live in Chicago where I was determined to make it in radio. My plan was to volunteer at WBEZ, doing whatever I could, until they gave me a job. I had no friends, no job, and a one month sublet.
My father retired in 2011 from North Bay Regional Center, which serves persons with developmental disabilities and their families. The start of his career began when he was a junior in high school. This story is dedicated to him.
